As part of National Physician Assistant Week, we’re celebrating these professionals and their contributions by highlighting one of our own, Lora Robertson, PA-C

Our physician assistants are a highly trained and compassionate group of healthcare professionals who provide the highest level of care to critically ill and injured infants and children in a family-centered care environment. They play a vital role in the success of our practice by evaluating patients, admitting them to the hospital, following-up on critical lab and test results, formulating treatment plans, preparing patients for discharge, and spending considerable time educating and helping the families understand their child's medical problems.
Lora Robertson, PA-C, exemplifies what makes our PA’s so special and invaluable. Lora manages patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU). She has a special interest in managing post-operative patients and educating families about preventative medicine. She works with both physicians’ teams at Pediatric Critical Care of South Florida as well as Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
While working as a licensed massage therapist (LMT), Lora returned to her massage school where she taught anatomy and physiology. As an LMT, she worked extensively in pathology and she found herself wanting to grow her assessment skills in order to better treat the conditions she dealt with. Desiring to use her skills in a more impactful manner, both professionally and intellectually, Lora decided to learn and grow into a new profession by becoming a physician assistant.
With a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University already under her belt, Lora returned to school and obtained a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University – a challenge she found to be extremely rewarding.
A Pembroke Pines native, Lora is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
