We are excited to announce Dr. Wendy Carcamo has joined our PCCSF family!
Dr. Carcamo received her medical degree from the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando, Florida. She completed her pediatric residency and pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Arnold Palmer Children’s hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Prior to obtaining her medical degree, she obtained her PhD in molecular cell biology at the University of Florida. Â During which time she studied autoantibodies and identified a novel cellular structure. The interest in research continued during fellowship in which she studied the use of orbital sheath diameter as a surrogate for ICP. Additionally, studied the utility of early mobility with lead to the implementation of early mobility guidelines in the PICU.
Additional areas of interest include education with a focus on the use of simulations as an education tool.
